and Barbara visit your facility.
A visit with “Frankie, the Walk ‘N
Roll Dog” presentation offers:
- Introduction of Frankie and explanation of her
paralysis and how she gets along in a dog cart. Teaches children
the importance of care for their own animals.
- A selected reading of “Frankie, the Walk
‘N Roll Dog.”
- Discussion of challenges and making positive choices.
Teaches children how to look at their own challenges and how it
helps them to learn and grow into a better person by dealing with
challenges in a positive way.
- At the end of the presentation each child
will have a moment to pet Frankie.
Frankie’s example of living
a quality life in a dog cart is a wonderful lesson for children
(and adults). It helps them understand how they can look for blessings
in every challenge they have. It also teaches children compassion
towards physically handicapped people and animals.

Barbara and Frankie prefer small classrooms
of no more than 75 children, but are open to discussion for what
may best fit your school or library. Barbara suggests a 30- minute
presentation for grades K-2 and a 45-minute presentation for grades
3-5. Currently we offer one or two presentations (prefer back-to-back
for two) twice a week. So be sure to get into our schedule as soon
as possible.
Upon your scheduled author visit Barbara
will provide you with a letter of agreement, bio’s of author
and Frankie, and a copy of “Frankie, the Walk ‘N Roll
Dog” book markers to use as you wish.
Testimonials
Your message was very uplifting and so perfect for children to comprehend. You went above and beyond my expectations. Frankie is truly a gift from above to us all! -Amy Nelson, Teacher at St. John the Baptist School
Excellent! Great use of time moving from book to Frankie, to her dog cart. Kids were stimulated-- it never got boring. Keep doing what you are doing. You are by far the most organized, well-planned, and prepared presenter I ever worked with. -Julie Hauk, Teacher at Longfellow School
I received this book as a gift and loved it. Every kid that comes in my house is required to read the book with me. This inspirational story teaches children love, compassion and courage. It put a big smile on the face of a kid who's in a wheelchair. -Lin Fong-O'Neil, Children's author of Tiger! Tiger! Tail on Fire!
Author Barbara Techel and Frankie left a lasting impression with all the families who attended the presentation. The program was wonderful and ideal for audiences of all ages. Their book "Frankie the Walk'n Roll Dog" was a fascinating addition to our collection. We are looking forward to a return visit! -Aimee Steinbruecker, Youth Services, Sheboygan Mead Public Library
